We fished the surf of San Jose Island today. Speckled trout on croakers was our target. The trout were aggressive and limits came early. Later we tolled for kingfish and caught several. All were released.

We fished Baffin Bay for 3 days with artificial lures. We used top waters in the early mornings then switched to soft plastics. The speckled trout fishing was great early on top waters. Lots of nice fish up to 25″. We moved deeper as the sun rose and caught trout in guts on Bass Assassins and Norton Mini Sand Eels. Most colors produced but bone diamond was the best.

Fishing was great today near Rockport. We fished Copano Bay and used croakers. Although we did not catch any large speckled trout the fish we did catch were agressive and plentiful. The deep water reefs in Copano Bay can produce some very good boxes of fish.

We had a great three days of fishing. the speckled trout were very aggressive. They attacked the croakers and were all good sized fish with several over 4 lbs. Both father and son caught several really big fish. They had plenty of fish to take home for future fish dinners. We fished Aransas and Copano Bays and had a great time.

We fished the Meadows today in Baffin Bay. Croakers were the hot bait not piggy perch and the speckled trout were very aggressive. Almost pulling the rod from our hands. Althought most were around 18 inches (nice trout), there were several over 22 inches

The surf at San Jose island was almost flat and the fishing was great. We had great speckled trout fishing on croakers and everyone caught nice trout may over 20 inches and several over 25 inches.

We fished south of Marker 37 in the Laguna Madre and had plenty of speckled trout. Several over 23 inches. Everyone caught fish. The bay is in great shape and the fish are biting.

We had a good couple of days on the bay with fishing near Rockport and Port Aransas. We decided to fish the San Jose Island surf and fishing was great. Large speckled trout on croakers. The seas were almost flat and the fish were almost on the beach. We anchored inside the second bar and cast to the breakers on the beach. These fish are larger than most bay trout and much meaner. They fight really hard.

We fished Shamrock Bay today and had a surprise with a couple of really nice redfish. One was over 30″. The best speckled trout was 25 1/2 inches. We had plenty of 16 to 18 inch trout on live bait (croakers and piggy perch). Give me a call to schedule your fishing trip at 956-607-7200.

The fishing the last couple of days has been tough due to 30 mph winds and high barometric pressure. We fished in the Rockport area on Saturday and headed for the Laguna Madre on Sunday. Both days the fish bite occurred during the minor feeding periods and was non-aggressive. We still ended up with a good stringer and fished five different bays.
