The bay was windy but the fish did not notice. Redfish were along a drop off. They were aggressive and the type of bait was not important. Plastics or live shrimp under a popping cork was equally good. All the fisherman had a great day and had plenty of fish for a fresh fish dinner.

The saltwater bay fishing was great today. Wade fishing with live shrimp and a cork produced good stringers of redfish and speckled trout. Fish are over grass beds in knee deep water. Look for water that is moving from tide or wind and a little off color. Come down to Rockport / Port Aransas and fish the saltwater bays.

Fishing is fun for the whole family. Today we had a mixed bag of Speckled Trout, Redfish, and flounder. The live shrimp under a cork was the trick. Everyone caught fish. Lots of fun. Come down and bring the whole family to Rockport/Port Aransas for some saltwater bay fishing.

We were wade fishing today with Bass Assasins. The action was consistent but not as fast as we would have liked. Redfish and Speckled Trout were scattered along grassy shorelines with underwater grass beds. Lots of bait and fish where ever the bait was. The major color was 10W40 in a 5 ” jerk shad. Worked with a 1/8 oz. leadhead. It was the trick. Lots of trout with many over 20″. The day was great and the fresh fish dinner was a real treat. Rockport has several restaurants that allow you to bring you own fish and will prepare it for you. Come to Rockport and spend a day on the bay.

The fishing is great in the bays near Rockport / Port Aransas. Redfish and Speckled Trout. We were concentrating on Redfish this morning and started at a spot along San Jose Island where Redfish school up this time of year. We were hooked up on the first cast and several times we had three Redfish on at once. Live shrimp under a cork was the trick. These Redfish were hungry. Several of the Redfish were oversize. After the morning of fast action my fisherman decided to take lunch early and head for home. Give me a call for an exciting day of fishing on the saltwater bays near Rockport.
