Mark and I decided to try fishing the near shore water of the Gulf of Mexico. We left the launch in the dark and ran to the Gulf near Port Aransas. The seas were flat but there were a few ran clouds. We tried the surf along San Jose Island with limited success. We started off shore and stopped at each oil/gas production platform. We found a few fish at each platform with a mixed bag of redfish, snapper, amberjack, and ling (cobia). We had a great day and enjoyed calm seas (very rare in Texas waters).
