Mark, my friend from PA and I left the launch very early and found the redfish very shallow at sunrise. The wind was up but the bite continued until the sun was completely up. We had a good catch of redfish and trout. We both were looking forward to a fresh fish dinner. Fishing is great in the bays around Rockport.

Today was a great day for fishing and my crew was up to the task. We departed the launch before daylight and ran to the surf along San Jose Island north of Port Aransas. We caught speckled trout, shark, and ladyfish. After the excitement and a couple of dodges to avoid the rain we headed off shore to look for Ling and Kingfish. We found the Ling but they refused to bite. The Kingfish were more cooperative. We ended the day with a smooth ride back to Port Aransas and some speckled trout filets for dinner.

We headed to the surf along San Jose Island north of Port Aransas and caught some nice speckled trout. After a few hours we returned to the bay to continue our fishing and caught a few more. The fishing was great and everyone had a great time on the bay.
