The saltwater bay fishing on the upper Laguna Madre was great today. We fished south of Corpus Christi about 10 miles and caught plenty of speckled trout. The guys enjoyed a day on the water and a break from work. We used piggy perch for bait. These baits are perfect for late summer trout fishing and catching. Everyone took filets home for dinner. Come to Rockport and enjoy a day of fishing on the bays.

The fishing was very good this weekend in the upper Laguna Madre near Corpus Christi. I was one of 50 fishing guides donating their time to fish the Copano Energy’s “Cast for the Cure” tournament. This is a “catch and release” event and everyone were true sportsmen. My fisherman did their job and we released the most trout of the tournament. Our top fish included a 27 1/2 ” trout and a 33 1/2 ” redfish. We had a great time and really enjoyed two great days on the bay. Come down and try bay fishing, you will never forget it.
