Get Hooked on Fishing with Captain Ray Burdette

Fishing Reports from Rockport Guides

July 12, 2009

Today was a perfect fishing day. We pulled away from the launch at Billing’s Bait Stand at the base of the John F. Kennedy Causeway Bridge at 6:15 AM. Our boat ride south was short and within a few minutes we had several nice Speckled Trout in the ice chest. Our fishing continued with hits and misses and hits and hook-ups until everyone had caught plenty of trout. We headed for the launch and back to Rockport / Port Aransas area. The saltwater bay fishing in the Upper Laguna Madre was excellent today. Everyone caught fish. My crew today had lots of speckled trout to take back to San Antonio and share with friends. Schedule a trip with us to fish the saltwater bays of the coastal bend of Texas.

Three 27" Trout for the 3 Fishermen

We fished the upper Laguna Madre south of Corpus Christi today.  The water was beautiful and the bay fishing was great.  My crew was dad and two young fisherman who really liked to fish.  They jumped right to the task of baiting hooks and casting rods.  The fish really cooperated by taking the offering with gusto.  Our two young fisherman each caught a 27″ speckled trout and dad rounded out the three some.  What a great catch for our young crew.  Our return to Rockport Via the ferry was an adventure for the guys as well. Everyone will sleep good tonight.  Schedule your trip with El Canelo Charters to enjoy a day on the bay with Capt. Ray Burdette.

Dad's Catch, Black Tipped Shark

The salt water bay fishing was great today. We specialize in family fishing trips and young fishermen. We fished the natural gas production rigs in Corpus Christi Bay today. The selection of fish caught was varied. (Speckled trout, sand trout, gaff top catfish, salt water catfish, and Black Tipped shark). Everyone caught fish and everyone had a great time. The high point of the day was Todd’s (dad) 4 ft. Black Tipped shark. The dolphin put on a show for us as well. Jumping and diving all around the boat. Come fish with us in Rockport / Port Aransas and have a great day on the bay.
